About Us

NewsBios was created as a division of the TJFR Group as an added service to its clients.

Our team of research journalists draw upon our own extensive proprietary databases, as well as commercial and Internet resources. We provide information about what each journalist is currently covering, his/her contact information, previous employment, education, personal information, books written, awards won, professional association memberships, and anything else that will give our customers the full picture of a journalist.

NewsBios / TJFR Group is the nation's leading independent source of information on the news media. The company was founded in New York in April 1987 and named for is flagship newsletter, The Journalist & Financial Reporting (TJFR). The company was founded on the vision of Pulitzer Prize nominated former columnist for The Wall Street Journal, Dean Rotbart.

Today, NewsBios produces a wide range of online information, special events, and databases focused on influential journalists and news organizations. The NewsBios team regularly monitors the media and conducts interviews with prominent journalists and communications executives.

The company's annual rankings and evaluations of journalists are closely watched and widely cited by major news organizations. These include the Business Journalist of the Year; the Top 100 influential business and financial journalists in the country; the Business News Luminaries Awards; and the 30 most promising business journalists under the age of 30, just to mention a few.

As the industry leader we take pride in our work, our client relations, and most importantly our relationships with journalists.

Please take a moment and read some of our customer testimonials and see for yourself the value of our service. To show you the wide range and variety of clients that we service, we have included a Customer List.

Meet Dean Rotbart, Chairman, Founder, and Executive Editor

We are also very proud to have such a visionary leader in our Founder and Chairman, Dean Rotbart. Mr. Rotbart is a former Pulitzer Prize nominated Wall Street Journal investigative reporter, columnist and news editor. He was the principal writer of the "Heard on the Street" investment column. Mr. Rotbart was also in charge of the Journal's business-television operations, serving as executive producer of "The Wall Street Journal Report on Television."

Mr. Rotbart writes articles for NewsBios/TJFR.com and Newsroom Confidential. You may access current and archived copies or subscribe to the free newsletter by clicking this hyper link:  Article Link
